All the Light We Cannot See…a MUST READ!

There are tons of books about WWII, the Nazi occupation and the Holocaust. This was the war of all wars with atrocities never before seen. What makes this book stand out? It doesn’t take us into the concentration camps. We don’t experience the violence and cruelty of the soldiers in the streets. What we do witness is acts of bravery, kindness and determination. We see a father and his blind daughter’s struggle to flee the bombing of Paris, and to find refuge in a a relative’s home. The father recognizes the need to teach his daughter the independence she needs to find her way alone in her blind world in case they are separated. But he must do this without frightening her-making it more like a game she can practice. There are many more themes-more than I want to tell. You must experience this beautifully written, uplifting, Pulitzer Prize winning novel on your own. I loved the audiobook version-free from my library’s Libby app. Comments welcome. BonniesBookEscape.com. Enjoy!
